total wine

Total wine is a large wine shop which is great because that means there’s many options. But with many options comes many decisions. We are here to help.

So following up from our red wine under $25 at Total Wine, here is our list of the top 10 dry white wines at Total Wine.

For dry white wines, we like to separate into 3 categories:

Table of Contents

New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs

Famous among the dry white wine lovers due to its two main characteristics: the taste of grapefruit and grass.

Sancerre/Pouilly Fume

Sancerre is our favorite region for Sauvignon Blancs. Popular due to its unique minerality and earthy notes while providing crisp and clean finishes.

California Sauvignon Blancs

This California dry white wine is acknowledged for its fruit-forward flavors that end with a fresh finish.

What are the Best Dry White Wines at Total Wine?

It is found almost in every wine shop, including Total Wine, due to its mass production and its TV commercials, but it is not evident that it is low in quality or taste. Always a solid choice and normally very accessible.

Tasting Notes: Passion fruit, melon, and grapefruit, vibrant acidity

It is also produced in large numbers, found everywhere and very cheap, but it cannot catch much attention compared to Kim Crawford. It is particularly famous for its aromatic, zesty dry white wines made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety.

Tasting Notes: Citrus notes, grapefruit, lime, and tropical fruits.

Compared to other New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, it is quite unpopular, but probably our favorite on this list. It is an elegant wine and has fine refreshing, mouthwatering Grassy, Grapefruit taste, leaving you longing for more.

Tasting Notes: Passion fruit, lemon, grassy, and grapefruit.

Pascal Jolivet are among the most accessible Sancerres you can buy in the States. So if you find this Sancerre under $25 at Total Wine, then consider yourself fortunate and buy it.

Tasting Notes: Citrus, lemon, grapefruit, minerals, fresh

Hubert Brochard is a family-run business dating back to the 1900’s. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from their vineyards located on the best hills of the villages around Chavignol. A refreshing dry white wine for the summer time.

Tasting Notes: Minerals, stone, pear, citrus

Great value for the price. What a Sancerre should be. Harder to find then the previous two, but a must buy especially if you can find it under $25 at Total Wine.

Tasting Notes: Light, crispness, green apple, lemon, grapefruit

Les Franches Pouilly-Fume by Pascal Jolivet

Another Pascal Jolivet wine but this dry white wine is more challenging to find. But if you find it, this dry white wine gives fantastic flavor with a subtle minerality to it.

Tasting Notes: Citrus, peach, grapefruit, apricot, apple, melon, minerals

Over 40 years of making wine in Napa Valley, Rombauer is well-known for their delicious chardonnay. But what many people don’t know is that they also produce an excellent dry white wine, their Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting Notes: Key lime, mango, papaya, and white nectarine with a hint of fresh-cut grass.

Another famous winery not normally known for their dry white wines, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is an excellent winery for amazing red wine. However, its AVETA Sauvignon Blanc is on our must buy and try list at Total Wine under $25!

Tasting Notes: Dry, pineapple, grassy, citrus, and light body

Located in the heart of Napa, this Fume Blanc (a lesser known dry white wine) is what you want on a hot summer day. Crisp, clean and cool.

Tasting Notes: Preserved lemon, acidic, citrus, bell pepper
