Table of Contents
Best Red Wines at Wegmans Under $20
1) Vignals Detective Cabernet - Syrah
At Under $10, this is a great red blend for those on a budget and one of the best wines at Wegmans!
So by combining the structure and depth of Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah’s dark fruit and spice aromas, this blend makes for a well balanced medium to full-bodied wine that provides the palate with its rich dark fruits of blueberry, plum, and cherry along with earthy notes of tobacco, smoke, and pepper on the finish.
Enjoy with barbecued meats or Italian dishes that use tomatoes. So if you’re looking for an affordable red for everyday drinking, this is definitely one to buy!
2) Fess Parker American Traditional Red
This is a red blend that’s sure to please! It offers medium tannins and dark fruit notes, with a full body. On the nose you get cherries, plums, and hints of leather. And it’s soft and smooth on the palate while it delivers ripe blackberry, plum, tobacco and oak with an appealing depth of flavor and complexity. Finally I get a hint of a pepper spice finish.
And for its price, it’s a great value red that pairs well with red meat and is ready to drink now! So try pairing it with grilled steak or hearty stews.
3) Marcelo Pelleriti Signature Malbec
If you’re looking for a great Argentine Malbec, this one is definitely worth trying. On the nose you get ripe red fruits like cherries, plums and raspberries, along with hints of vanilla and spice.
On the palate, this full-bodied Malbec is smooth and velvety with intense ripe plum, blackberry, vanilla and spice notes with an earthy undertone all blended together in perfect harmony. The finish is long and lingering with a hint of oak.
This Malbec pairs well with richer dishes such as rack of lamb, or a juicy steak with chimichurri sauce. Enjoy!
