Bogle Vineyards is one of the wineries that have come from generations of farming and wine business. Operating for over 50 years, they are run by the 6th generation of Bogle’s, siblings Warren, Judy, and Ryan. Additionally, it was named the American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast in 2019.
If you’re looking for an easy drinking smooth table wine that’s affordable, then Bogle Merlot might be a good choice for you. For under $10, you already get a very aromatic wine that has bold fruity, and oaky flavors.
Bogle Merlot is produced by Bogle Vineyards in Clarksburg, California. The fruit for this wine comes from Monterey, Lodi, and Clarksburg vineyards. They started in 1968 as a production of wine grapes for other wineries.Â

The Bogle Merlot bottle looks like your ordinary bottle of wine and has nothing really special about it. The wine itself has dark garnet in color.
This wine is very aromatic. The first impression that I got is oak, vanilla, dark berries, a hint of chocolate, and even tobacco. Additionally, I get charred cedar, and baked cherries.
You get to taste the same aroma that you smell. I got the red dark fruits forward including the blackberry, dark berries, and other rich dark fruits. Additionally, I can taste the vanilla and sweetness from the ripe red fruits.Â
The Bogle Merlot has soft, pleasant, and silky fresh notes. The velvety berry notes provide its medium sweetness and have a slight pepper finish. Overall, it has dominating flavors and a strong tannin presence.
You can purchase the Bogle Merlot in almost all online wine stores and supermarkets like Total Wines, Walmart, Vivino, Drizly, and even on the Bogle Winery website itself. Its price range is between $10 to $15 depending on where you buy it.
Bogle Wines are not considered premium or fine wines. However, they have solid wines that are offered at affordable prices. Additionally, their wines have won awards or accolades, including Bogle Vineyards has won the American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast in 2019.
Bogle Merlot has 14.5% alcohol content per bottle. Smelling the wine, there’s no hint of alcohol and the taste has a perfect balance overall.
