The Emmolo wines are produced by the Jenny Wagner, who is part of the “First Family of California Wine“.
With over 40 years of experience in winemaking between her parents, grandparents, and siblings, she has learned a lot about what goes into the family vineyards and a good wine. This Merlot is delicious and a great example of her expertise.
This wine sources grapes from Napa Valley vineyards, some of which have been in my family for decades. They look for locations with light gravelly soil and ideal growing circumstances that will allow their remaining grapes to receive abundant and equal sunlight to stay on the vine longer to ripen. The result is a Napa Valley wine with beautiful juicy dark fruit forward flavors and a smooth finish.
Quite frankly one of the best Merlots. Rich and smooth with dark berry flavors, vanilla, oak, chocolate, leather, and a nice finish.
Delicious for all occasions. I’ve enjoyed this wine on its own after a long day’s work. I’ve enjoyed this wine for celebratory events and occasions. I’ve ordered this wine to pair with my dinner at a Michelin star restaurant. I’ve paired this wine at home with many different types of cuisines including Chinese food, steaks, bbq, and many more.
And every time I had this wine, it delivered! And not just for me, but everyone who was there.
The Emmolo Merlot has aromas of ripe cherries, plum, and vanilla. On the palate, you’ll find rich flavors of juicy black cherries, black plums, chocolate, and a touch of oak, spice, & smoke. The wine is full-bodied, well-balanced with firm tannins and a long finish.
Retail price for this wine $60. Emmolo Merlot has been selling for $36 – $45 per bottle on Vivino.
Yes Emmolo is part of the Wagner Family of Wine, which includes Caymus along with many other brands.
