WineO Mark Review

This unique sparkling wine, made in the Pétillant Naturel (Pet Nat) style, is indeed a splendid manifestation of the Pinot Grigio grape.

The first pour reveals a beautiful golden peach color with a slight cloudiness – a characteristic trait of Pet Nat wines due to the natural fermentation process. On the nose, the wine is an intense bouquet of strawberries, red berries, peaches, apricots, and lemons. There are also notes of white flowers, honey, and sourdough bread.

This is a light to medium-bodied wine that has a semi-sparkling texture on the palate. It has moderate acidity making it dry, crisp, and unique. You can taste pears, apples, apricots, wild strawberries, and raspberries with hints of grapefruits, sour orange, lemon zest, and minerals.

The Pinot Grigio’s inherent crispness shines through, providing an excellent balance to the wine’s natural effervescence. The finish is refreshingly dry (Brut Nature), with a lingering minerality.

This wine’s texture is a noteworthy element, owing to the unfiltered nature of Pet Nat wines. It offers a slightly rustic mouthfeel that is both unusual and delightful.
