WineO Mark Review

Here’s another fantastic wine from Paul Hobbs, and the best part is, it’s a more budget-friendly Malbec. It boasts a blend of ripe black fruits, plums, and a hint of chocolate, characteristic of the Malbec grape.

Upon tasting, I appreciate the wine’s velvety texture and medium-to-full body. Its flavors unfold in layers, starting with blackberry, plum, and cherry. Then transitioning into subtler notes of chocolate and tobacco. The oak aging is evident, lending to its nuances of vanilla and a hint of toast, but it doesn’t overpower the inherent fruitiness of the wine.

The tannins are well-integrated and smooth, and the finish lingers, bringing back the wine’s fruit-forward notes mixed with a hint of oak.

In conclusion, the Viña Cobos Felino Malbec 2021 is a rich, expressive, and beautifully balanced red wine. I highly recommended for those looking for an affordable, great tasting Malbec from Mendoza.
