Cakebread Chardonnay Review

cakebread chardonnay

The Cakebread Chardonnay is on the higher end of Chardonnays with a price of ~$40, but it’s celebrated as one of the best Chardonnays from Napa Valley.

Look

The Cakebread Chardonnay has your typical wine bottle with a simple design. It almost has this almost pickle-like green bottle. In the glass, the wine is gold in color.

Aroma

On the nose, this wine has apple, pear, and white peach. I can also smell some notes of oak and even fresh-cut grass.

Taste

The taste confirms the smell. I immediately get the apple, pear, vanilla, and grass. There are also some mineral notes and a slight lemon twist to it.

Finish

The Cakebread Chardonnay has a rich and creamy texture with a long finish. But it also has appealing mineral notes, moderate sweetness from the ripe fruits, and crispness at the end. It’s just a fantastic Chardonnay with many different levels to it and a great balance.
