Cakebread Chardonnay Review
The Cakebread Chardonnay is on the higher end of Chardonnays with a price of ~$40, but it’s celebrated as one of the best Chardonnays from Napa Valley.
The Cakebread Chardonnay has your typical wine bottle with a simple design. It almost has this almost pickle-like green bottle. In the glass, the wine is gold in color.
On the nose, this wine has apple, pear, and white peach. I can also smell some notes of oak and even fresh-cut grass.
The taste confirms the smell. I immediately get the apple, pear, vanilla, and grass. There are also some mineral notes and a slight lemon twist to it.
The Cakebread Chardonnay has a rich and creamy texture with a long finish. But it also has appealing mineral notes, moderate sweetness from the ripe fruits, and crispness at the end. It’s just a fantastic Chardonnay with many different levels to it and a great balance.

What is Comparable to Cakebread Chardonnay?
Since Cakebread Chardonnay is one of the premium Chardonnays from Napa, I would only recommend ones that are also considered one of the better Napa Valley Chardonnays. Rombauer, Alpha Omega, Far Niente, just to name a few.
Is Cakebread Chardonnay Buttery?
Yes but not too buttery. The Cakebread Chardonnay has a smooth and creamy texture with a balanced acidity to it.
